Alkali-activated slag concrete with paper industry waste

چکیده

Pulp and paper manufacturing recycling industries are a resource-intensive sector, generating 25–40% of the annual municipal solid waste worldwide. Waste includes abundant volumes sludge, as well product its incineration, namely sludge ash. These two materials both predominantly landfilled. There is thus drive for additional valorisation routes these materials. This short communication focuses on potential use ash in alkali-activated cement concrete; this type concrete was estimated to potentially reduce CO 2 emissions by up 5–6 times, while it can also incorporate or industrial by-products composition. The presents laboratory study assessing feasibility structural with ground granulated blastfurnace slag (a by-product steel production) Paper used mainly source Ca(OH) alkaline activator solution, secondly an aluminosilicates. A number factors affecting activation process resulting quality were investigated, including different dosage activators, curing conditions time. Mixes system developed high early strengths at ambient temperatures maintained adequate concrete. Further mix optimisation mechanical durability testing, accompanied material characterisation, required establish advantages using

SELF-Cured Alkali Activated Slag Concrete Mixes- An Experimental Study

Alkali Activated Slag Concrete (AASC) mixes are manufactured by activating ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) using sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate solutions. The aim of the present experimental research was to investigate the effect of increasing the dosages of sodium oxide (Na2O, in the range of 4 to 8%) and the activator modulus (Ms) (i.e. the SiO2/Na2O ratio, in the range of ...

Mechanical Properties and Eco-Efficiency of Steel Fiber Reinforced Alkali-Activated Slag Concrete

Conventional concrete production that uses ordinary Portland cement (OPC) as a binder seems unsustainable due to its high energy consumption, natural resource exhaustion and huge carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. To transform the conventional process of concrete production to a more sustainable process, the replacement of high energy-consumptive PC with new binders such as fly ash and alkali-acti...

A Study of the Influence of Slag Alkali Level on the Alkali-Silica Reactivity of Slag Concrete

Ground granulated blast furnace slag (ggbs), can reduce the alkali load in concrete, despite its relatively high alkali content. Most research has been devoted to the efficacy of slag with an alkali content of less than 1.0% and this is reflected in guidance documents. A comparative assessment was made of the effect, if any, of the alkali level of ggbs on potential alkali-silica reactivity. Exp...

ALKALI Activated FLY-ASH Based Geopolymer Concrete

Considering the increasing demand for developing alternative construction materials, due to the growing environmental concerns, this paper discusses the feasibility of alkali activated geo-polymer concrete, as a future construction material. The main objective of this study involves observation of structural behaviours of the fresh fly ash-based geo-polymer concrete, understanding the basic mix...
